Brachioplasty is a surgical procedure that removes excess fat and skin from the arms. The aging process, poor body structure, or significant weight loss, especially after gastric bypass surgery, usually causes excess and sagging skin in the arm area.

The surgery requires general anesthesia. During the procedure, in addition to skin removal, it can also be combined with liposuction of the area. The incision required is somewhat visible as it extends from the armpit to the elbow. Patients are required to wear a special protective sleeve post-operatively and avoid strenuous upper body exercise. Today, however, there is a modern brachioplasty technique where the incision is much smaller, placed within the armpit area, and combined with liposuction. The selection of patients for this specific technique is made solely by the plastic surgeon after evaluating the condition of your arms.
