Cysts are benign lesions that can appear anywhere on the body. They present as organized masses under the skin, which may be palpable only, but in some cases, they can increase in size and become visible, causing aesthetic or functional problems. Cysts can remain unchanged in size for years, gradually grow, or even become inflamed. In the latter case, antibiotic treatment is necessary.

When removal of a cyst is deemed necessary, it is a surgical procedure performed under local anesthesia. Post-operatively, the patient returns home immediately, and the lesion is sent for histopathological examination.

In cases where the removed cyst is extensive and requires the removal of skin and subcutaneous tissues, plastic surgery can utilize a variety of surgical flaps, cleverly designed from the adjacent skin to achieve closure of the problematic area. After suture removal, specific instructions are provided for the care of the area, aiming for the best possible aesthetic outcome.
